THE DISTRIBUTED DATA CHALLENGE

Routes, warehouses, carriers and customers generate data that still has to be reconciled

The problem

Operational data is distributed across systems, locations and external partners. Shipments, inventory, fleet activity, incidents, costs and service data may come from TMS, WMS, ERP, telematics, databases and customer or carrier files. Bringing it together for operations, profitability and reporting often requires exports, spreadsheets, scripts and repeated manual reconciliation.

  • Manual reconciliation delays cost and service analysis
  • Third-party formats create recurring exceptions
  • Operational reporting depends on exports, scripts or IT work

How Dataprep helps

Turn those recurring exchanges into controlled data workflows. Use Dataprep to bring operational and third-party data together, normalize structures and identifiers, apply validation rules, automate execution and keep the process visible from source to delivery.

  • Connect operational and third-party data
  • Normalize formats and validate business rules
  • Automate recurring workflows and monitor every execution

OPERATIONAL IMPACT

Make logistics data easier to consolidate, trust and deliver

Make operational data available sooner

Automate recurring consolidation and validation so teams spend less time waiting for exports and manual reconciliation.

Reduce reconciliation across the network

Apply consistent mapping and validation rules across warehouses, carriers, customers and operational systems.

Standardize recurring data delivery

Build controlled workflows for operational, customer and partner data without creating another manual process for each variation.

COMMON LOGISTICS WORKFLOWS

Standardize recurring data operations across your logistics network

Route & customer cost consolidation

Combine transport activity, ERP costs and related data to prepare recurring cost and profitability analysis.

Example workflow

TMS + ERP + fleet data → consolidate → validate → cost dataset

Delivery & service-level validation

Prepare delivery, incident and service data so operational teams can identify incomplete or inconsistent records before reporting.

Example workflow

TMS + partner data → normalize → validate → service dataset

Carrier & partner data normalization

Standardize CSV, Excel, SFTP, API or other supported inputs received from carriers, suppliers and logistics partners.

Example workflow

Partner files + APIs → map → validate → central system

Customer & operations reporting data

Automate the preparation and delivery of recurring datasets for customers, branches, warehouses or operational teams.

Example workflow

Operational systems → prepare → validate → BI / customer destination

EXAMPLE WORKFLOW

Automate recurring delivery and cost consolidation

Logistics data can arrive from several systems and external parties. Dataprep lets you combine the required sources, normalize identifiers and formats, validate the result and deliver prepared data to the systems your teams already use.

WHERE DATAPREP FITS

Built for recurring data operations across distributed logistics networks

Dataprep fits well when…

  • Several warehouses, branches, carriers or customer systems participate in the same data process
  • Operational reporting still requires exports, files or manual reconciliation
  • External partners provide data in different formats or structures
  • Cost, delivery or service data must be combined across several systems
  • Customer or partner data deliveries repeat and need consistent validation
  • The workflow can be handled mainly with Dataprep's available connectivity, transformation, validation and automation capabilities

Not designed for…

  • Real-time route optimization
  • Critical dispatch or vehicle control
  • High-frequency telematics streaming as the primary workload
  • Safety-critical transportation systems
  • Core transactional functionality that belongs inside a TMS or WMS
  • Use cases that depend mainly on capabilities outside Dataprep's current technical scope

Questions about Dataprep for transport and logistics

How Dataprep supports recurring logistics data operations.

Does Dataprep replace our TMS, WMS or ERP?

Dataprep does not replace the transactional and operational functionality of those systems. It can complement or replace the data preparation, integration and automation workflows around them when its capabilities cover the requirements.

How does Dataprep connect to TMS, WMS and fleet systems?

Dataprep connects through the interfaces exposed by each system, such as databases, REST APIs, OData, files or FTP/SFTP. Connectivity depends on the specific system, available interfaces and network environment.

Can Dataprep work with telematics or fleet data?

Yes, when the data is available through supported interfaces and the workload fits Dataprep's processing model. Dataprep is not intended as a high-frequency telematics streaming or real-time vehicle-control platform.

Can Dataprep normalize files received from carriers and customers?

Yes. Workflows can ingest supported files and sources, map structures, transform fields and apply validation rules before delivering the prepared data to downstream systems.

Can Dataprep automate recurring customer and operational data deliveries?

Yes. Prepared data can be delivered through supported Destination connectors such as databases, files, REST APIs, FTP/SFTP and compatible storage services.

Can Dataprep work with Biuwer Analytics or our existing BI platform?

Yes. Biuwer Dataprep and Biuwer Analytics can be used independently. Prepared logistics data can be delivered to Analytics, another BI platform or another supported destination.

Can Dataprep run on-premise or inside our infrastructure?

Yes. Dataprep can run in the cloud or on-premise. It also supports cloud workers and local workers, so workflows can process data inside the customer's own infrastructure when required.
